Putting country first

Dear Editor,
AS Economics Association of Zambia, we have just held a very successful economic “indaba” at the Quorum in Lusaka.

Great thanks goes to the Chamber of Mines, Mr Trevor Hambayi, Mr Mutisunge Zulu (EAZ National Secretary), Mr Highvie Hamududu, Mr Antony Mumba, NCC CEO Mr Mathew Ngulube, Mr Frank Mutubila, Mr Costa Mwansa, Bank CEOs, ambassadors, foreign dignitaries, Dr Pollen, Mr Peni Mwamba, various scholars, industry captains, government officials and many other people that attended our inaugural “indaba.”
This is the first step towards creating a better and nontoxic country narrative where stakeholders exchange views in our country.
Our next activity will feature a closed door economic forum hosting political party stakeholders aimed at improving the narrative and discourse currently being experienced by the country.
Going towards the 2021 elections, we shall promote as an association a mature narrative aimed at showcasing a battle of ideas and not mediocrity amongst stakeholders.

DR LUBINDA HAABAZOKA,
EAZ President.
