Cadres shoot at PF member, Ngwira?

By NATION REPORTER

SUSPECTED cadres in the early hours of yesterday shot at Patriotic Front (PF) member, Chanoda Ngwira as he was going home from running his errands.

Mr Ngwira in an interview said the suspected cadres trailed him from Chalala Mall and after driving for some time they opened fire at him and in the process hit the car.

He said that the first shot missed the car but that on the second occasion the thugs who were driving a grey Toyota IST opened fire and this time around hit the wind screen but missed him.

“When these guys opened fire at first I thought it was a tyre burst but after they by passed me one of them came out from the window and shot at me this time around hitting the windscreen.

Mr Ngwira said that he had enhanced security because he was now aware that his life was in danger as the cadres were out to get him.

He said he had not reported the matter to the police yet because he felt they would not take the matter seriously since the cadres were untouchable.

And Police spokesperson Rae Haamonga said it was important for Mr Ngwira to report the matter so that they could investigate.

“I want to urge the Mr Ngwira to come forward and report the matter to the police so that we can look into this matter because as things stand we do not have the facts,” he said.
