Fake notes land man in court

A 27 year old MAN of Lusaka’s Chazanga compound has been dragged to court  for unlawful possession of forged Bank notes contrary to section358 of the penal Code, Chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.

This is a matter in which Anthony Chileshe appeared in the Lusaka Magistrate court before Chief Resident Magistrate Dominic Makalicha for allegedly being in possession of forged money amounting to K1, 300 without lawful authority.

Arresting Police Officer in this matter told the court, the money the accused had in possession appeared like they were washed and had the same serial number.

He said after verifying the notes with the Bank of Zambia, they discovered that the money was fake, Police then warned and cautioned him and  he accepted the charge.

Particulars of the offense are  that, Chileshe  on the November 7, 2021 in  Lusaka, jointly and whilst acting together with other persons unknown did possess K1,300 knowing the same to be forged notes without lawful authority.

Having admitted  the Charge, the Court set January 11, 2022 for continuation of trial.
