“IT IS a lie. I did not wish UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema dead’’, Copperbelt minister Bowman Lusambo has clarified.

“The lies and propaganda attributed to me that I wished UPND president Mr Hakainde Hichilema dead goes to show the cancer that is in our politics which we need to uproot,” he said.

Mr. Lusambo, who is Kabushi Patriotic Front  Member of Parliament, said he was a cultured and experienced politician who could not wish harm even to his worst political opponents.

Mr. Lusambo warned ‘‘Facebook politicians’’ that were purveying such lies to respect the national motto of One Zambia, One Nation. He said such lies would not build Zambia.

Mr. Lusambo also reminded opposition political parties that politics should not divide them.

Meanwhile, Mr. Lusambo said he had lunch with Solwezi Central UPND Member of Parliament Stafford Mulusa, at Nandos, Jacaranda Mall, in Ndola on Tuesday afternoon.

“This afternoon, I shared a lovely lunch meal with Solwezi Central UPND Member of Parliament Hon. Stafford Mulusa, M.P.

“This goes to demonstrate that our different political affiliations should not divide us because as Zambia, what brings us together is much stronger than what separates us,” said Mr. Lusambo.

He said as a seasoned politician, he firmly believed that there were no permanent enemies in politics.

“I also believe in civil politics, full of maturity and decency,” Mr Lusambo said.
