President reshuffles permanent secretaries

PRESDIENT Edgar Lungu has made more reshuffles to his Government with the movement of permanent secretaries in various ministries.

Special assistant to the President for Pres sand Public relations Amos Chanda in a statement yesterday announced the appointment of Emmanuel Mulenga Pamu as new Permanent Secretary in charge of budget and economic affairs at the Ministry of Finance taking over from Pamela Kabamba who moves to the Ministry of Home Affairs in charge of the commission of Refugees, Immigration, Archives and the Registrar of Societies.

Mr Chanda said the President’s decision was in line with Article 92(10) of the Republican Constitution.

And the President has promoted Andrew Nkunika from post of director to Permanent secretary responsible for Legislative Drafting at the Ministry of Justice. “The Head of State has elevated Dr Martin Mtonga’s position of National Coordinator of the Smart Centre Zambia to level of Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet.

“The President has transferred Ministry of Tourism and Arts Permanent Secretary Dr Liya Mutale to the Ministry of Community Development and Social Welfare, swapping her with Reverend Howard Sikwela,” he said.

Others affected in the reshuffle included Sport, Youth and Child Development Permanent Secretary Agnes Musunga who’s been swapped with Ministry of Works and Supply Joe Kapambwe while Home Affairs’ Elywn Chomba goes to Ministry of Health for further deployment.
