Indoor spraying priority, councilor assures Lusaka residents

INDOOR Residue Spraying of mosquitoes is a priority and chemicals as well as equipment are in place to execute the job, says Lusaka Central Silwizya Ward 13 Councillor Tarcious Ndolesha.

Mr Ndolesha said the issue of indoor residue spraying of mosquitoes was one of his top to-do-list.

He assured residents that he was working tirelessly behind the scenes and that they would be relieved to know that negotiations on how to effectively and efficiently tackle the issue with relevant authorities such as the District Health Management team had taken place.

In an update, the civic leader said the excercise would soon take place as necessary measures such as chemicals and equipment were in place to execute the job.

“Please rest reassured that the issue of residue indoor spraying is a priority on my To-Do list.

We have been working tirelessly behind the scenes. The good news is that you will be relieved to learn that we have already concluded our negotiations with the relevant authorities.

“The chemicals have been released and we have already put all the necessary equipment in place to execute the job,” Mr Ndolesha said.

He expressed hope that the indoor residue spraying of mosquitoes in Silwizya Ward 13 would soon commence.

Mr Ndolesha said mosquitoes had become a source of concern and a cause of malaria infections hence reducing the productivity of the community.

He urged residents to allow health officers to discharge their work in a smooth way.

Mr Ndolesha expressed confidence that working with the community and health authorities mosquitoes would be reduced.
