UPND Serenje Constituency Member of Parliament Bishop Friday Katombi says President Hakainde Hichilema's newly constituted cabinet is well positioned to actualise the Grow Zambia Agenda through focused leadership and improved coordination across government.

Dr Katombi said the President's decision to split some of the larger ministries had created clearer mandates, strengthened accountability and enhanced the capacity of government to deliver on its development priorities.

In a statement yesterday, Dr Katombi said the cabinet's combination of skills and regional representation provided a strong foundation for advancing the country's economic transformation agenda.

He said President Hichilema's leadership was driving growth in key sectors, including mining, agriculture, tourism and manufacturing, with a particular emphasis on job creation and wealth generation.

"President Hichilema has demonstrated a clear commitment to transforming Zambia's economy by focusing on sectors that have the potential to create jobs, attract investment and improve the livelihoods of ordinary citizens," Dr Katombi said.

He said prudent management of public resources, debt restructuring and efforts to improve investor confidence were important steps towards establishing a stronger and more sustainable economy.

Dr Katombi also commended the President's commitment to the rule of law, the fight against corruption and good governance, saying these principles were essential to restoring public confidence in state institutions.

He noted that investments in education, healthcare, energy and infrastructure were laying the groundwork for inclusive national development.

He also said the Constituency Development Fund was bringing development closer to communities by supporting local projects and improving livelihoods.

He cited free education, the recruitment of teachers and health workers, and social protection programmes as measures demonstrating the government's commitment to improving the welfare of ordinary Zambians.

Dr Katombi said national unity, peace and stability remained critical to attracting investment and sustaining economic progress.

He urged citizens to support initiatives aimed at advancing development, arguing that the country needed a collective commitment to results rather than political rhetoric.

"President Hichilema deserves support because the focus must be on delivery, job creation and improving the lives of our people," he said.

Dr Katombi expressed confidence that the Cabinet would translate the Grow Zambia Agenda into tangible benefits for citizens through effective implementation of government policies and programmes.
