Ndola, Luanshya trade volumes drop

THE business volumes in Ndola and Luanshya have gone down because of the outbreak of the corona virus.
Luanshya District Chamber of Commerce and industry (LDCCI) President Kennedy Simpemba said the outbreak of Covid-19 had affected businesses in the area negatively.
In an interview, Mr Simpemba also indicated that to completely contain the pandemic, companies would have to shut down.
He cited the mines where people had to work in confined spaces underground and came from different places, stating that the risk of contracting the virus was high.
Mr Simpemba urged Government to ensure that gloves and masks were accessible and affordable for the people.
Mr Simpemba, however, hoped for the best in curbing the pandemic for business to get back to normal.
And former Ndola District Chamber of Commerce and Industries (NDCCI) President, Sagar Ashu, acknowledged that the outbreak of COVID-19 had affected operations of most businesses
Mr Ashu, therefore, encouraged all businesses to take necessary precautions as well as follow all Government regulations.
He urged the public to work with the Ministry of Health in every way possible, as the pandemic needed the collective effort.
