Let’s stay safe – PF

By JACKSON MAPAPAYI
WE must all be cautious and follow health guidelines to contain the spread of Covid-19, the Patriotic Front in North Western Province has said.
PF provincial chairperson, Jackson Kungo, noted that the pandemic was a “monumental” pain which has disrupted the daily routine for all Zambians irrespective of political or denominational affiliation.
He said party activities in the province had ground to a halt as officials were no longer holding meetings with people in the communities.
Mr Kungo was speaking when he featured on a live radio programme dubbed ‘Community Watch’ on Beats FM in Solwezi yesterday.
“Party mobilisation is on stand still because we have to follow the guidelines that have been put in place as measures to avoid the spread of the pandemic,” he said.
Mr Kungo however mentioned that he was happy with measures Government had put in place to fight the virus.
He, however, called on the provincial medical team to mount roadblocks in Mushindamo and Kalumbila so that buses and trucks could be screened thoroughly before getting into Solwezi. Mr Kungo said because of close contact on public transport, it would be very easy to spread the virus.
