THE Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has set October 31st as the date for the return of the much anticipated MTN/FAZ Super Division.

FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala confirmed the date in a statement issued by FAZ Communications Manager Sydney Mungala.
Kashala said all the hurdles have been cleared to ensure that the season kicks off on October 31, 2020.
“Following the approval of fixtures by the Executive Committee of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) the Zambian Premier League will kick off on October 31 weekend.
“We are very happy to announce the fixtures of the 2020/2021 season for the Zambia Premier League. The fixtures have been approved by the Executive Committee clearing the way for the league to kick off,” Kashala said.
He said clubs will be expected to adhere to the Covid-19 health protocols as the league commences.
Meanwhile, NAPSA Stars coach Mohammed Fathi has set winning the league and reaching the group stage of the CAF Confederations Cup as NAPSA Stars’ main priorities for the new season.
Fathi said his charges are ready for the new season which will see the “Pensioners” taking on Zesco United in their first league game.
“So far so good. The team is ready, we just need to keep motivating the players. They did a good job last season and we are going to play continental games next month so we shall need to motivate them,” Fathi said.
Week one of the Super Division will see defending champions and 2020 Charity Shield winners Nkana take on last season’s league runners up Forest Rangers.
Newcomers Young Green Eagles will begin their Super Division campaign with a tie against Power Dynamos at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.
Last season’s Eden League champions, Indeni will face Zanaco with David Chilufya returning to Sunset Stadium as an opponent after he was fired last season at Zanaco where he served as first assistant to Mumamba who now leads Zesco United.
Kitwe United and Prison Leopards will face off in their return to Super Division action while Buffaloes will play hosts to Red Arrows in a Lusaka derby.

Week one fixtures:

Power Dynamos Vs Young Green Eagles
Kitwe United Vs Prison Leopards
Buildcon Vs Lusaka Dynamos
Green Buffaloes Vs Red Arrows
Napsa Stars Vs Zesco United
Zanaco Vs Indeni
Forest Vs Nkana
Kabwe Warriors Vs Green Eagles
Lumwana Radiants Vs Nkwazi
