WE have been engaging all former Patriotic Front members, soon they will be back to the party they sacrificed for, says its Vice Chairperson for mobilisation Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba has said.
He indicated that a number of former members who were influential had been approached and they were expected to rejoin the party.
Mr Mwamba said the mobilisation team led by national chairperson Richard Musukwa had been on the ground to engage all former members who left for various reasons to rejoin.
He said the party cannot allow all former members to be in other political parties when they had their own “home” where they were supposed to be.
Mr Mwamba said in an interview yesterday, with the return of former National Democratic Congress (NDC) secretary-general Mwenya Musenge, who was an influential member in the past years, more of such people would soon reunite with the party.
“I can assure you that a number of members who were very influential but left for various reasons are expected to reunite with the party.
We have engaged them time to time just to ensure that they can be convinced. It has not been easy but we have done our level best, we are now expecting them to tell us as when they are ready to rejoin the party.
“It is normal that people can leave the party because they were not happy with something but as time goes what went wrong can be corrected. So a number of them have been convinced, this is what as a mobilisation team we have been yearning for,” Mr Mwamba said.
Meanwhile Mr Mwamba said “We have even been approaching members of various political parties, our aim is to ensure that the party grows because wining an election is about numbers.”
