HH accusers assaulted,go into hiding
By NATION REPORTER
TWO people who sued UPND president Hakainde Hichilema for illegally occupying their 2, 000 hectare farm in Kalomo were viciously attacked on Saturday night at their home in Choma, hospitalised at Macha Hospital and are now in hiding.
After being dragged out of bed and brutally beaten, the attackers fled.
Footprints showed that they had crossed over into Chief Monze’s chiefdom in Monze.
A Daily Nation team which visited Choma found that Mr Milton Hatembo, the man who sued Mr Hichilema and his wife, Nevia Michelo, were not at their home.
Mr Allan Hachikosole, the cousin to Mr Hatembo said the two were in hiding.
He said that his sister-in-law who is scared for her life has deserted her house after people she does not know attacked her and the family in the early hours of Saturday, February 13, 2021.
“I went there and discovered that my sister-in-law, Nevea Micheelo, had deserted her home immediately after being discharged from Macha Hospital,” Mr Hachikosole said.
“She is currently in Chimema Village in Manguza area at her mother’s place in Chief Mapaza’s chiefdom,” he said.
Mr Hachikosole also disclosed that he does not know the whereabouts of his cousin, Mr Hatembo but emphasised that he could be hiding somewhere following threats issued to him before and after the court case from unknown people.
Efforts to get a comment from the United Party for National Development Councillor Herbert Monze proved futile as he remained tightlipped over the matter despite having details of what transpired.
