HATEMBOS’ VIDEO MEANT TO SHIELD CRIMINALITY, SAYS NAWAKWI

By SIMON MUNTEMBA

THE new video in which the missing Hatembos are claiming that I am after their lives is sheer nonsense created by a cluster of criminals in UPND who want to shield their criminalities, says FDD president Edith Nawakwi.

And Ms Nawakwi has insisted that both Tommy Halwindi who run away from the police, and the missing Hatembo siblings were being kept hostage by UPND president Hakainde Hichilema.

Ms Nawakwi, said she had nothing against the Hatembos apart from trying to help them.

She said the circulated video was orchestrated by Mr Hichilema and his surrogates as a way of trying to wash his “dirt,“ on her.

“The originator of that video is none other than the UPND. But what I would like to say from the onset is the contents of the video are a sheer nonsense; this is the creation of a cluster of criminals who are trying to shroud their criminalities in innocent Zambians such as Pheluna and Milton,” Ms Nawakwi said.

She however vowed that she will never allow Mr Hichilema to change the narrative to shield his alleged criminalities.

Ms Nawakwi wondered why the police were slow in moving in to bring Mr Hichilema to book for his alleged criminal activities.

She accused Mr Hichilema of having obtained his wealth through dubious means “as he is believed to have dipped his fingers in the Lima Bank liquidation.”

Ms Nawakwi challenged Mr Hichilema to take legal action against her if he felt she was falsely accusing him on the matter involving Hatembos’ disappearance.

Asked what motivated her to pursue the Hatembos matter, Ms Nawakwi said she felt duty bound as a leader and Zambian to ensure justice prevails for them.
