OUTSPOKEN human rights activists Laura Miti and Linda Kasonde have refused to show solidarity to the missing Hatembo siblings, Pheluna and Milton.
In separate interviews, both Ms Miti and Ms Kasonde refused to join in the solidarity of organisations and individuals calling for the release of the siblings, who have been missing for about two months.
The activists have continued with their deafening silence despite being condemned by the public for not speaking out on a matter that was alien to Zambia.
When contacted for a comment, Ms Miti said she could not comment on the abduction when she earlier demanded for the release of their suspected abductors.
Ms Miti advised Daily Nation to get a comment from her Facebook page which read: “Who is the complainant in the abduction case? As in who reported the abduction to the police?”
The abduction of the siblings was reported by their brothers Cosmas and Emmerson last month who also travelled to Choma from Lusaka to go and hold a funeral for their missing relatives.
The brothers also indicated in an interview that the family was still intent on appealing the matter in which UPND president Hakainde Hichilema had been sued for allegedly fraudulently acquiring their family farm.
And Ms Kasonde, the former Law Association of Zambia president and Chapter One Foundation director, refused to comment on the abduction.
Ms Kasonde said she had nothing to comment on the Hatembos disappearance.
