AFTER watching his side thumped 3-0 by Green Eagles, Nkana coach Beston Chambeshi will today aim to redeem himself when the team host Nkwazi in a Week-28 MTN Super League fixture at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe.
Chambeshi, who returned to Nkana Stadium with one aim of helping the team survive relegation, has already suffered two defeats, a 2-0 loss to Raja Casablanca in their final CAF Confederations Cup Group D fixture and a 3-0 defeat to Eagles last Sunday.
With the defending champions lying on 17th position on the FAZ Super League table with 21 points, Chambeshi knows that a win over Nkwazi would be a perfect boost to their hope for survival.
Despite Nkana being the underdogs going into today’s fixture, Nkwazi coach Keegan Phiri is expecting a tough encounter against a side that celebrated its last league win against Nkwazi at Edwin Imboela Stadium in Lusaka.
Nkwazi are eighth on the Super League table with 37 points and a win over Nkana will propel them to 40 points.
Meanwhile, after bouncing back from two consecutive defeats with 2-0 beating of Lumwana Radiants, Kabwe Warriors host Power Dynamos at Godfrey Chitalu Stadium in Kabwe.
The fixture presents Power Dynamos a perfect chance to recover from one defeat and four draws from five games.
Power Dynamos will fight for a win knowing that earning three points will propel them to 41 points on fourth position.
At Independence Stadium in Solwezi, Bilton Musonda and Chris Kaunda will renew their rivalry when Lumwana Radiants host Zanaco.
Radiants will seek revenge having been humiliated to a 4-0 defeat in a league fixture played on December 20 at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka.
In other league fixtures, Napsa Stars will aim to bounce back from Sunday’s 2-1 defeat to Green Buffaloes when they host Kitwe United at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka while, Young Green Eagles will welcome Red Arrows at Khosa Stadium in Kafue.
In the first fixture of the double header at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola, Buildcon will welcome struggling Prison Leopards before Forest Rangers play Buffaloes in the other fixure at the same venue.
Tomorrow’s Super League games will see runaway league leaders Zesco United hosting Green Eagles at Levy Mwanawasa while Lusaka Dynamos will take on Indeni at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka.
