Opposition leader went to Zambia’s bond holders to ask them not to approve Zambia’s request to halt interest payments and debt servicing until COVID impact on the economy normalizes. He revealed that an opposition leader asked the bond holders to squeeze the current Government and so that citizens could be adversely affected and consequently turn against those in government.

“Zambians must suffer so they vote for you?”Mr Kambwili asked. And Mr Kambwili has said there is urgent need to stamp out tribalism and regionalism by ensuring that political parties that encourage tribal voting are not entertained.

Mr Kambwili also said it would be very unreasonable for Zambians to think of voting out the Patriotic Front because the party has performed extremely well. He noted that tribalism and regionalism was a time bomb which needed to be dealt with before it degenerate into civil strife. “If we are not careful, there will be war in this country.

The citizens are voting on regional lines and that is dangerous. If a president of a political party is getting votes only from his region, it means there is something very wrong. “Tribalism must be condemned at all costs and any political party, whether it is PF or opposition that is telling people to vote on tribal lines, should be condemned.

Such kind of political parties must be extinct from the political arena through the electoral process,” Mr Kambwili said. He said some opposition political party has never formed government despite being in existence for over 20 years because God has not allowed it.

Meanwhile, Mr Kambwili said it would be very unreasonable for Zambians to think of voting out the PF because the party has performed extremely well. “I have come to renew my card as PF member, ifintu ni PF. If you compare what the MMD built in 20 years and what the PF has built in nine years, it will be very unreasonable to think of voting the PF out,” Mr Kambwili said. He said all the party needed to do was to reduce the cost of living, more especially high prices of food stuff, saying “there was a cartel behind the high prices of essential commodities.

”He also promised to pay total allegiance and loyalty to President Edgar Lungu, adding that he would remain an ordinary member of the party. Mr Kambwili said the agenda of some known opposition political party leaders who were unpatriotic was to destroy a country they desired to rule by sponsoring anarchy. And in welcoming him, PF national chairperson Samuel Mukupa told Mr Kambwili to feel at home as he was welcoming him back on behalf of President Lungu, the PF Central Committee and all the party members. PF secretary General Davis Mwila said it will be easy to work with Mr Kambwili because, “as one of the founder members of PF, he is one of us.”
