CITIZENS should get title to their land because the benefits are immense and one can easily access bank loans, President Edgar Lungu has said. President Lungu said no institution would lend money without some form of security.
He was speaking in Namalombwe ward in Chilanga when he inspected the drilling of two industrial boreholes. Mr Lungu said he would follow up with the Ministry of Lands on the ongoing national land titling programme to find out how far it had gone.
He said if there were any hiccups with the programme, they would be sorted out without delay. President Lungu said it was imperative that citizens put their land on title. And President Lungu urged traders in Chilanga to adhere to Covid-19 guidelines if the wheels of the economy were to continue running.
President Lungu said during a tour of Katambalala market yesterday that the economy of the country should not collapse but that people should strictly comply with the health guidelines. Meanwhile, PF Chilanga parliamentary candidate, Maria Langa expressed happiness that the process of giving titles to people in Namalombwe Ward had started.
