The Patriot Front (PF) in Lusaka Province has urged its supporters not to entertain some independent candidates that are campaigning for themselves using the party name.

Party Lusaka Province chairperson Kennedy Kamba said that independent candidates were welcome to support President Edgar Lungu but they should not use the party’s name for personal gains.

Speaking yesterday during a door to door meeting in Chongwe’s Bagdad ward, Mr Kamba said the party has its own candidates on various positions ranging from councilor to parliamentary levels hence its supporters should only entertain adopted persons.

He said anyone that wished to campaign for the President was welcome and free to do so but that independent candidates should not abuse the party’s name for their own mileage.

” This candidates you have seen (Chongwe Parliamentary candidate Japhen Mwakalombe and his councilor candidates) are our party’s adopted candidates, so if any  independent comes here with PF materials from wherever, just reject them because we have our own candidates that the party has sponsored,” Mr Kamba said.

And Mr Mwakalombe expressed confidence that the ruling party would retain the seat due to the many developmental play projects initiated in the last five years.
