GOODS WORTH MILLIONS GO UP IN FLAMES


GOODS worth K1.4 million have been reduced to ashes after fire swept through a wholesale shop in the Second Class trading area in Kitwe.


The Fire-fighting crews from the Kitwe City Council, Mopani Copper Mines and Copperbelt Energy Corporation battled the inferno for hours.
Owner of the wholesale Yasseen Banda said he bought goods worth K1.4 million a few days ago and he has lost almost everything.


Mr Banda however thanked the fire-fighting crews for putting out the fire before it spread to nearby buildings.
And Kitwe Chief Fire Officer Anthony Mbawa, said an investigation has been launched to ascertain the cause of the inferno. – ZNBC.
