I’LL REMAIN LOYAL TO ECL – EDWARD CHOMBA
By NATION REPORTER
EDWARD Chomba, the losing PF Kankoyo parliamentary candidate, has pledged loyalty to President Edgar Lungu and the former ruling party.
Bishop Chomba said he would not ditch the PF nor abandon President Lungu and that he would be available to the party and the people in Kankoyo constituency anytime he would be called upon.
“I will remain loyal to the President of the Patriotic Front His Excellency Dr Edgar Chagwa Lungu and to the PF itself. I am not going anywhere, I will be with you and we shall be together.,” he said in Mufulira yesterday.
Bishop Chomba said he would continue providing support in many aspects including during funerals in the community and would also remain available for Church activities in Kankoyo constituency and beyond.
He said his campaign team did a tremendous job and sacrificed to go round the constituency, explaining PF achievements and what the party would have done for the people had it emerged winner in the August 12 general election.
Bishop Chomba, who is former Local Government Permanent Secretary, said that there was no winner nor vanquished in an election and called for unity and hard work.
He said the people of Kankoyo had made him proud and that if called upon he would not hesitate to render help in any way possible.
Bishop Chomba said he was delighted that President Lungu responded maturely after the results were announced and did not resort to anything that could have led to fights or any undesirable action.
He said it was in the interest of Zambia that all citizens were united to expend all the efforts on developing the country.
