IT WAS GOD’S WILL – PF

By SIMON MUNTEMBA

WE are convinced beyond any reasonable doubt that it was God’s will that we lost the 2021 Presidential elections as Patriotic Front (PF) as a way of teaching us a lesson, PF chairperson for information and publicity Given Lubinda has said.

Mr Lubinda however said the central committee had resolved to conduct an introspection and post-mortem to establish the causes of the loss so as to strategise on how to make amends and move ahead on a higher trajectory. Speaking at a press briefing in Lusaka yesterday, Mr Lubinda said the loss that the party suffered was devastating but fortunately not vanquishing.

He said the central committee reminded itself of the fact that PF had suffered three election losses in the past but due to the resilience and perseverance of its members, it emerged sound and strong from all of them. “Against this background, the central committee is convinced beyond any reasonable doubt that it was God’s will that we lost the 2021 elections.

Divine intervention is meant to teach us lessons,” Mr Lubinda said. Mr Lubinda also called on all ordinary PF members from the grassroots, sympathisers and the general citizenry to present their views on what they thought caused them to lose, as they conduct an introspection and post-mortem to change for the better.

He said the central committee had resolved to conduct an introspection and a post-mortem that shall take the form of a candid review of all policies, occurrences, statements and all other commissions or omissions made especially by those who were entrusted with leadership positions.

As the guiding principle goes, he said, we shall make every one count, no view shall be ignored. Mr Lubinda said the party was determined to yet again emerge stronger and more reinvigorated than ever before having understood what it meant to be in opposition and in Government. He also disclosed that the PF central committee had adopted three significant adhoc committees to spearhead programmes that would make the party an effective opposition that shall be responsible to the needs and aspirations of Zambians.

Mr Lubinda urged all members, supporters and citizens to remain calm and peaceful and to conduct their daily chores without shame, inhibition or fear because the PF Government had set the trajectory that could not be met.
