OVER 600 STUDENT GET LOANS
THE Higher Education Loans and Scholarships Board has awarded loans to 601 first year students at Mukuba University for the 2021/2022 academic year.
Of the figure 599 applicants have obtained 100 percent, while two received 75 percent education loans.
Higher Education Loans and Scholarships Board Corporate Communications Officer Chiselwa Kawanda said the beneficiaries constituted 335 male students while 266 accounted for their counterparts.
Ms Kawanda said in a statement that the Student loans cover tuition fees, accommodation and book allowances.
She said among the recent 1,355 applicants for the education loans, 571 applicants are from rural areas, while 784 from urban areas.
Ms Kawanda said the Higher Education Loans and Scholarships Board is currently supporting 331 students at Mukuba University. – ZNBC.
