PF FUMES OVER UPND ATTACKS
By GIDEON NYENDWA
GOVERNMENT should take stern action against UPND cadres who have continued attacking PF supporters as the “barbaric” behaviour can degenerate into a catastrophe, PF Secretary General Davies Mwila has said.
Mr Mwila said the UPND government should intervene and.guaranteethe safety of PF members.
He was commenting on the latest brutal attack on a PF member DamboPhiri who was almost killed in Lusaka’s Roma area.
In some other parts of the country, PF supporters and sympathiserswere also being targeted.
Mr Mwila said the silence by the UPND government was not a good sign and if left unchecked, it might result in something catastrophic.
“They should do something to manage the situation otherwise it will go out of hand,” he said.
Mr. Mwila said the UPND should not continue attacking PF sympathisers because they were in power now so it makes no sense that they have continued with the attacks.
“Why should they continue attacking us when they got what they wanted? They are in power so why should they continue attacking us? We are Zambians and this country belongs to all of us,” he said.
He said the UPND should focus on fulfilling the promises.
Mr. Mwila said UPND leaders promised that they will do things differently from the PF when they come into power but what they are doing now is worse compared to what the previous regime was doing, the Pf was not attacking and killing people.
