Mr Lubinda
SHARE

By ADRIAN MWANZA

PATRIOTIC Front (PF) vice president Given Lubinda has said that there are sponsored elements hell bent on tarnishing the image of the party by spreading falsehoods about the party.

Mr Lubinda said some people had gone flat out spreading malicious stories about the party which was very unfortunate. ‘’People are abusing social media and using it to scandalise the party by sending malicious stories about us,’’ he said. He wondered what the intention was for people to malign the PF and pointed out where it was alleged that secretary general Davies Mwila had ditched the party.

Mr Lubinda said that Mr Mwila was still the secretary general and categorically said that the story was fake. He said people were distorting and altering information which was unfair and aimed at destabilising the party.

Meanwhile PF Secretary General Davies Mwila has rubbished claims that he has resigned from the party after the August 12 elections. Mr Mwila said contrary to media reports he was still the Secretary General of the party and that he had not resigned. He had earlier hinted that he would be stepping down as the party’s Chief Executive Officer after former president Edgar Lungu had hinted that he would retire from active politics.

Meanwhile Mr Antonio Mwanza who had stepped down as the National Youth Chairperson for the Patriotic Front said he had not yet resigned as Media Director of the party and is still a Member of the Central Committee. Mr Mwanza said that he would remain an ordinary Member of the Central Committee of the Party. ‘’I wish to remain as an ordinary Member of the Central Committee of the Party. I further, I wish to indicate that I will also be stepping down as the Party’s Media Director,’’ Mr Mwanza wrote. He also pledged his loyalty and commitment to the Party and to continue working hard for the furtherance of the PF’s agenda.
