KALINGALINGA MAN IN COURT FOR DEFILEMENT,
…but claims girl is his girlfriend

A 45-YEAR-OLD man of Lusaka’s Kalingalinga compound has been dragged to court for having unlawful canal knowledge of a girl below the age of sixteen whom he allegedly thought was 22 years.
Appearing in the Lusaka magistrate court before Magistrate Alice Walusiku was Denny Sakala accused of defiling girl below the age of 16.
It is alleged that on September 17 2021, Sakala defiled a child who is below the age of 16 with no lawful authority.
However, Sakala accepted the charge saying the girl in question was his girlfriend and used to follow him at his place.
He further said that he only slept with her on three occasions and the girl doesn’t look young.
‘’I don’t agree that she is sixteen years old because in my eyes she looks 22, she is slim and the face looks old not young as purported to be,’’ Sakala said.
Magistrate: Did you sleep with the girl in question?
Sakala: Yes I did
Magistrate: How many times did you sleep with her?
Sakala: Three times your honor
Magistrate: Did she allow you to sleep with her?
Sakala: Yes, she was my girlfriend
Magistrate: What does she look like, didn’t you see her stature that she was young?
Sakala: No, she looks old, she doesnt look sixteen
Matter to come up on October 21 for trial.
