MPOSHA HOPEFUL
By Christopher Miti:
Water, Development and Sanitation Minister Mike Mposha is hopeful that most areas will have access to water with increased budgetary allocation.
Mr. Mposha notes that seven districts especially new ones in Eastern Province are not serviced by the Eastern Water and Sanitation Company.
He says it is a challenge to create new districts without supporting services such as water.
The Minister who is on a tour of Eastern Province was speaking when he called on Provincial Minister Peter Phiri in Chipata today.
And Mr. Phiri urged the ministry to fund the Eastern utility company so that it can extend its services to other areas especially the new districts.
He also highlighted a number of challenges that the water company is facing.
