MWEWA CHITAMBALA IN TROUBLE WITH THE LAW

OUTSPOKEN blogger, Chitambala Mwewa who runs a Facebook page called Simon Mwewa Lane has been slapped with two offences of libel and cyber bullying of Chawama Member of Parliament Tasila Lungu.
In a video posted on his Facebook page, Mr Mwewa claimed that he had incriminating information against Ms Lungu and that she should be investigated for purchasing a named bank together with all the assets worth 300 million.
In count one it is alleged that Chitambala published words which were untrue on his Facebook page.
The words in question are said to have intended to bring the name of Ms. Lungu into contempt and ridicule.
In the second count it is alleged that Chitambala attacked and bullied Tasila using the cyber space.
This is according to the indictment filed at the Lusaka Magistrate court.
According to the document Mr. Chitambala is expected to appear in court today.
Ms. Lungu is been represented by Lusaka Lawyers Makebi Zulu and Jonas Zimba.
LUSAKA magistrate Chrispin Hampungani has granted Mr Mwewa K50, 000 bail in his own recognizance but he will be back in court today for plea.
