PF still popular – Mwila

PF still popular – Mwila

THE just ended by-election results in Kaumbwe constituency and Lusanganzi Council chairperson should motivate PF members to get organised and work hard because the victory showed that the party was still the people’s choice, PF Secretary-General Davis Mwila has said.

Mr Mwila also said the winning of the Kaumbwe and Lusanganzi by-election should send a serious signal to the UPND that people showed their grievances through the ballot paper.

He said despite the Kaumbwe campaigns being marred with violence, perpetuated by UPND cadres and other illicit activities, the people of Kaumbwe spoke through their votes.

He noted that the voting in the province has not changed because people believed in actions and not speeches.

Mr Mwila said the PF will now become stronger and continue issuing checks and balances to the government and that they would not be intimidated in any way.

Mr Mwila said PF is still alive and will continue speaking for the people in society because the UPND has now shifted from its campaign promises of taking care of the vulnerable in society such as the elderly citizens.

He said President Edgar Lungu did a lot for the people as well as for the party, therefore the two elections should be celebrated, stating that the results in two by-elections is a wake-up call to the current government that if they do not fulfil their promises, they would be kicked out of power.

“It is a clear demonstration from the people of Kaumbwe constituency and Lusanganzi that they have spoken through the ballot, therefore, UPND should just accept that people still believe in the PF’s pro-poor policies,” said Mr Mwila.
