ZiCA focuses on developing accountants park for Livingstone

ZAMBIA Institute of Chartered Accountant (ZiCA) says, it is determined to actualising the vision of development of the Shuungu Namutitima international convention centre (SNICC) and the fully developed accountants park in Livingstone.
ZiCA president Cecilia Zimba says in its quest to find investors and financing for the project, the institute through the contractor, received an indicative financing proposal for the project from an international Bank.
Ms Zimba disclosed during the just ended 36th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Livingstone that the Bank has however requested by that the ministry of finance should be the guarantor.
She said that the financing for the project was not actualised following the announcement by government through the ministry of finance that it had halted the issuance of sovereign guarantees.
Ms Zimba said the institute’s appeal to government is to consider giving tax rebates on materials for the project.
She said this is so because SNICC is a project which is national in character and revolutionary in the development goals.
The ZiCA president said doing so will enable the institute to actualize the project as it will significantly contribute to employment creation and acceleration of tourism dividends of tourism in the Tourist Capital.
