INDENI REAPPOINT DABID CHILUFYA AS HEAD COACH

By MICHAEL MIYOBA

BARELY nine months after firing him as head coach, MTN/FAZ Super League outfit Indeni FC have reappointed former Zanaco and Buildcon FC coach Dabid Chilufya as head coach.

Indeni FC president Stephen Lilongwe confirmed in a statement issued by club media and communications manager Chellah Silavwe that Chilufya’s appointment has been done in the interest of ensuring that the ambitions and aspirations of the team are revived and sustained for the remainder of the 2021/2022 Super League season and beyond Lilongwe said that Chilufya will be assisted by Frank Miti, Chanda Mwape, Steven Tembo, Allan Chibwe and other members of the backroom staff.

He said the appointment of Chilufya followed the conclusion of the recruitment process by the technical committee after the resignation of Mwenya Chipepo in October this year.
Lilongwe is confident that Chilufya will boost the confidence level of the players.
“We are confident that he is a man to bring about the necessary morale, motivation, discipline, determination and the focus for the results we need.

“These are qualities, we saw decline but are very cardinal for success. The club was concerned that the performance was more of a routine, more or less like playing to fulfil the fixture rather than playing for competition,” Lilongwe said.
“Dabid Chilufya has been with the team before. He is well aware of the clu’s philosophy. His orientation on return is just a single visit to the stadium and we are back to our determined ways as a team,” Lilongwe has said.
Indeni are 15th on the Super League table with 11 points collected from two wins five draws and three loses from t10 games.

It is the second time Chilufya is returning to Indeni as head coach after he was first appointed in May 2020 to replace Mathews Ndlovu, before he was fired in February this year.
