POLICE POST TO BE DEMOLISHED?

TRANSPORT and Logistics Minister Frank Tayali has charged that the Richard Kachingwe Police post should be demolished for being constructed illegally on Zambian Railways Land.
Mr Tayali in an interview said he would not condone illegality and that the Police Post needed to be erazed because the right procedure was not followed.
He said that the laws were clear and that if the right procedure was not followed then the Police Post needed to be cleared.
“My position has been clear, if the Police Post is constructed on Zambia Railways land, then there are no two ways about it and it should be cleared because that is encroachment,” he said.
Mr Tayali said most people were taking matters in their own hands by constructing on bare land without verifying who the owners were.
He said these were the consequences of taking matters in their own hands because the law always caught up with them.
Mr Tayali said the new dawn government would not condone lawlessness from anyone and that the law would be followed to the letter.
He said the country’s transportation industry was growing at a very fast pace hence they would need to improve structures for the future.
Recently, Zambia Railways indicated that it would demolish all structures that were built in its land reserves.
