SAUDI GOATS DEAL NOT ABANDONED – MINISTER

By KETRA KALUNGA

ALL reasonable projects including the export of goats to Saudi Arabia initiated by the PF will not be abandoned, we are going to carry them over because we are in government, Minister of Livestock and Fisheries, Makozo Chikote has assured.

Mr. Chikote said in an interview that the government will not abandon all viable projects that were initiated by the Patriotic Front (PF) regime because they are projects meant to benefit the people.

He said projects such as the one million export deal of goats to Saudi Arabia would continue under the new dawn government for Zambians that have invested in livestock to benefit. “All reasonable projects will not be abandoned, we are going to carry them over because we are the government in place and anything to do with the nation we cannot abandon it simply because it was in the hands of the PF no,” he said.

Mr. Chikote explained that the ministry was working on establishing what led to the delay in commencing the goat export project to Saudi Arabia. He said the ministry is on the ground gathering information on why the project failed to materialise.
