Youths lack viable business proposals – CEEC
By KETRA KALUNGA
MOST youths applying for empowerment funds are failing to secure financing because they do not present viable business proposals, the Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission CEEC) has said.
The CEEC called on Zambians interested in accessing the aquaculture seed fund to ensure that their business project proposals are viable, with a proper business sense.
CEEC Public Relations and Communications Manager, Michelo Mukata said they would soon roll out a number of empowerment programmes in the next stage of funding for the aquaculture seed fund to contribute to job creation, development of the value chain, and economic transformation of the country.
Mr Mukata, speaking in an interview urged companies and individuals interested in accessing the fund to ensure that their project proposals meet objectives of the empowerment programme which include among others, jobs creation and industrialisation.
He expressed concern that most of the applications for financing the CEEC was receiving were not good enough.
He said the CEEC through the Zambia Aquaculture Enterprising Development Project and Aquaculture Seed Fund tried as much as possible to benefit the deserving applicants.
