THERE is something suspicious about the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) probe on Faith Musonda because it seems they just want to fix her, National Democratic Congress (NDC) President Saboi Imboela has said.
Ms Imboela wondered how the ACC managed to give amnesty to Ms Musonda over the K65 million, US$57, 000 and a house without considering the other property which she was rearrested for.
She said that as far as she was concerned, ACC had indicated that Ms Musonda had other properties and wondered why they did not give her the same amnesty to save time rather than going round circles.
Ms Imboela said that she was amazed that they had decided to again detain her when they had knowledge of the other property but decided to overlook the information.
“For me, I’m finding it hard to comprehend because the ACC knew about the other properties. Why didn’t they just confiscate the properties at a go rather than wait for some time for them to act,” Ms Imboela said.
She said the deal clinched with Ms Musonda was a normal deal and that it was a world-wide trend and there was nothing wrong or sinister with that.
Ms Imboela said that the ACC needed to clarify this because it was sending a very wrong picture about the whole scenario.
Ms Musonda was last Tuesday arrested and charged for allegedly being in possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime after she bought house number C5, 1, D4-B in Kingsland City in Lusaka valued at US$185, 000.
