PATRIOTIC Front officials must stop defaming and insulting the republican president, UPND Lusaka Province chairperson Anderson Banda has warned.
Mr Banda said PF officials should not take advantage of the freedom of speech and allegedly connect their criminal acts to the president.
He urged PF chairman for Information and Media Raphael Nakacinda and former Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo to focus on clearing their names.
“People like Raphael Nakacinda and Bowman Lusambo should concentrate on clearing their names and not what we are seeing right now,” he said.
This is in the case where the Anti-Corruption Commission announced that Mr Lusambo’s properties were being investigated.
Mr Banda said at a media briefing that Mr Lusambo and Mr Nakacinda should be grateful that the law enforcement agencies are giving them an opportunity to clear their names from the various allegations.
He also dvised the opposition to realise that politics of character assassinations, insults and mudslinging are outdated.
