TRIPLE C TREKS BACK TO SIMBA

By MICHAEL MIYOBA

SIX Months after his journey to the north where he went to play for Moroccan giants, RS Berkane, Chipolopolo midfielder Clatous Chama Chota has rejoined Tanzanian giants Simba FC. Simba FC confirmed that the Zambian star had rejoined them but could not state the reason for the shocking return. “The rock of Lusaka, Clatous Chota Chama has already started the journey to Tanzania and will arrive at 12 PM.

“Welcome home, Clatous Chama,” Simba FC said in a post posted on their social media platforms. Chama is reported to have reached an agreement with his club, Renaissance Sportive de Berkane of Morocco, to terminate his three-year contract. The move comes after Chama failed to impress at Berkane FC where he failed to register a goal in his 13 appearances for the North African club. In his 13 appearances for Berkane FC, Chama only made two assists in his short stint with the 2019/2020 CAF Confederation Cup Champions.

His shocking return to Tanzania has excited many Simba FC fans who took to social media to express their excitement. Chama, who was contracted to play at the Municipal Stadium of Berkane until August 2024, wearing his trademark number 17 shirt is reported to have struggled to adapt to Morocco’s climate.

Formerly of Nchanga Rangers, Zesco United and Lusaka Dynamos, Chama had spent three years with Simba, winning three league titles with the club before moving to Morocco. The mercurial midfielder, who joined Simba in 2018 after terminating his contract with Lusaka Dynamos in July that year, is expected to sign another long term deal with the Tanzanian giants.
