We will beat up all UPND officials, including Copperbelt Minister, Elisha Matambo if they will receives former Kalulushi Mayor, Rashida Mulenga into the party, Kalulushi UPND cadres have threatened.
The cadres warned Mr Matambo and other senior party officials against welcoming Ms Mulenga into the ruling party, saying they shall be dealt with.
In a video clip that has gone viral on social media, suspected three UPND cadres are shown hurling insults at their party officials after being tipped that Ms Mulenga was expected to defect to the UPND at a ceremony planned for today.
They threatened to beat up those behind the ceremony aimed at receiving their former political opponent.
Meanwhile, Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga has warned that police officers will take stern action against them.
“We shall deal with them firmly,” Hamoonga warned.
Efforts to get a comment from Mr Matambo proved futile by press time.
But Kalindo has distanced himself from some of his purported followers who are issuing video clips challenging the alleged MCP youths.
In an interview, Munthali insisted that no MCP youth is responsible for the threats.
