Speak out, citizens urged

By Irvin Muyumbwa

The Alliance for Community Action has implored citizens to hold government accountable by freely expressing themselves instead of adopting the mind-set of wanting to speak through the ballot once every five years.

Alliance for Community Action Information and Advocacy Officer Jimmy Maliseni says people need to realize that they can no longer remain silent in the belief that they would  correct mistakes at the ballot.

Mr Maliseni says people have the responsibility to hold their elected leaders accountable every day because some of the decisions and damage may be too difficult to reverse after a five year period.

And Mr Maliseni has advised law enforcement agencies to balance between doing their work in a timely manner and being thorough with the work that they do.
