PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema should make serious changes to his cabinet once he returns from holiday in Namwala because some of his ministers a letdown to the national aspirations, Zambia Republican Party (ZRP) leader, Wright Musoma has said.
Mr Musoma said though some people think Mr Hichilema does not deserve a holiday at the moment when the country under his leadership is going through economic turbulence, it’s good that he did so to reflect on the failures of his administration.
He said they expect that after the reflection in Namwala, Mr Hichilema will be able to identify the culprits in his cabinet who are making him to fail to deliver to the expectations of the Zambians. Mr Musoma said paying a deaf ear to calls by Zambians to fire some of the underperforming ministers will not help the President in way considering that his administration has failed to honour most of their promises.
Mr Musoma said Mr Hichilema should stop ignoring concerns raised by citizens on the performance of some of his ministers but instead act if he is really serious with improving the living standards of the people whom he promised a lot of things prior to the 2021 general election. “Right now, there is a lot of apprehension among the citizens because as a country we don’t know where this government is taking us to,” said Mr Musoma.
He said it’s clear from some of the wrong decisions ministers in the new dawn administration were making that they are not with the people but only interested in cutting deals to enrich themselves.
