By KETRA KALUNGA

IT is important that the Patriotic Front holds a conference whose outcome will be as a result of a credible process inspired by integrity, Presidential hopeful and member of central committee, Emmanuel Mwamba, has said.

Mr Mwamba, speaking in an interview said in that way, the President elected would be respected and help prevent the emergence of splinter or break-away parties after the conference.

“Preparation of the general conference is a mammoth task, the central committee has indicated that the party will hold the conference as soon as it is practicable,” he said.

Mr. Mwamba said this in reaction to the postponed convention to pave way for a finalisation of a report on logistics, venue and electoral college among others that would be represented to the central committee at its next sitting in 30 days’ time.

Meanwhile, PF acting Secretary General, Nickson Chilangwa said a preparatory report conducted by the committee tasked to carry out the work has been done and delivered to the central committee but a final report would be only ready in 30 days’ time.

Mr Chilangwa said in a statement that the central committee awaits the finalisation of specific preparations related to logistics, venue, electoral college, rules of the conference, transport and other matters incidental to the holding of the Conference.

Meanwhile, former Vice President, Inonge Wina has been appointed as a member of the PF Council of Elders during a central committee meeting on Saturday.

Ms Wina, who is also former PF vice president has been appointed along with Ng’onga Mukupa, Dennis Wanchinga, Paul Lumbi and Fidelis Kapoka. Mr Chilangwa has urged all PF members to continue exercising patience and loyalty to the party as it was determined to hold the extraordinary general conference as soon as possible
