MMD Veep Sambo fires warning shots

By NATION REPORTER

MOVEMENT for Muilti Party Democracy (MMD) vice president Reverend Ruben Sambo has warned people that are fanning confusion in the party of stern action because they were masquerading.

Reverend Sambo in an interview said it was unfortunate that individuals like Mr Tobby Maliti were issuing malicious statements about party president Dr Nevers Mumba when he was a suspended member.

He said Mr Maliti was suspended as chairperson of the party member from May to date and that he was not in good Loci standing with the party.

Reverend Sambo said that Mr Maliti and his colleagues went for an illegal convention which was later nullified.

He said Mr Maliti was trying to be playful and trying to cover his indiscipline which was unfortunate and that he was trying to be an opportunist.

Reverend Sambo also said that the party would not allow the masqueraders to start fanning problems in the party.

Meanwhile, party spokesperson Cephas Mukuka said they would take legal action against the likes of Mr Maliti, Gaston Sichilima and Sylvia Nawa  who were causing confusion in the MMD.

Mr Mukuka said the three had not right to challenge and even claim that Dr Mumba’s mandate had come to an end. “These people are not our members if you look at Ms Nawa she left the party while Mr Maliti is on suspension for gross indiscipline,” he said.
