RESOLVE ISSUES BETWEEN TANKER DRIVERS AND MULTI NATIONALS OVER CONTRACTS – OMCAZ

OIL Marketing Companies Association (OMCAZ) has said there is need for Government to quickly resolve issues between tanker drivers and multinational oil marketing companies over the issue of contracts before the country experiences disruption in the fuel supply chain.

Some tanker drivers had threatened to down tools if government does not ban foreign tankers from offloading petroleum products at TAZAMA pipeline as multinational oil companies awarding contracts to foreign transporters and not locals

OMCAZ president Kafula Mubanga said the law was clear  on the issue of giving priority  in the awarding of contracts  to local tanker drivers  in preference to foreign companies  by oil marketing therefore if  certain companies are  not adhere , government should move in Dr Mubanga said if government does not intervene in this issue and it will escalate and lead to the disruption in the fuel supply chain.
