Human Rights defender Ngande Mwanajiti has noted that with the general citizenry being key in fighting crime, citizens need to be vigilant and report suspected cases of crime to authorities.
Mr Mwanajiti said the general citizenry is part of the equation towards ensuring a safe environment and need to be vigilant to identify strange movements in their communities to help authorities fight crime.
Mr Mwanajiti said this is because increased crime will greatly affect the enjoyment of rights by citizens and that people should not take the law into their hands but report to authorities.
He said working with and giving accurate and adequate information to the authorities is vital in the fight against various forms of crimes that affect the enjoyment of people’s human rights.
