A UPND zealot, Beene Hachoombwe has lodged a complaint against Economic and Equity Party president Chilufya Tayali to the Inspector General of police Graphael Musamba for alleging that his attack was masterminded by the Zambia Army.
According to Mr Hachoombwe, Mr. Tayali abused his freedom of expression by allegedly claiming that the people who raided his residence were from the military, thereby bringing the security of the country into jeopardy.

Mr Hachoombwe said he was hoping that the new Inspector General would respond quickly so that Mr. Tayali should explain himself how he came to the conclusion that it was the work of the Zambia Army that had threatened his life.
Mr Hachoombwe said there was no way the Zambia Army officers would go and invade Mr Tayali’s house, because the military was the most disciplined unit of the country’s security system.
“Why should the Zambia Army go and invade his (Tayali) house? This has never happened in the history of this country that an army officer would be accused of invading somebody’s residence. The Zambia Army can never invade some’s private residence if you are a not criminal,” Mr Hachoombwe said.
He said Mr Tayali was an attention seeker and wanted to soil the name of the country to the international community and gain internal sympathy when he (Tayali) was a political nonentity.
Mr Hachoombwe said Mr Tayali was a danger to society and the earlier he faces the law the better for the safety and unity of the country.
And when he was asked whether or not Mr. Tayali was in order to advocate for the quick release of the name for the recruitment of army officers, Mr. Hachoombwe said Mr. Tayali was not in order because the Zambia Army would be able to release the names of successful candidates at their own time.
