FORMER President Edgar Lungu’s political advisor Zumani Zimba was yesterday arrested by the police from his farm in Chongwe for questioning on terrorism allegations.

PF presidential candidate, Emmanuel Mwamba confirmed that Mr. Zimba was picked up by the police and taken to Woodlands police station.

Mr Mwamba said the police were investigating Mr. Zimba for the possession of articles for terrorism which was a capital offence.

He said the charge that the police were alleging was very serious that may not be bondable.

Mr Mwamba said the arrest of Mr. Zimba was a manifestation of what Mr. Raphael Nakacinda revealed last week that there was a scheme to arrest about five senior officials among which former home affairs Minister, Stephans Kampyongo, Mr Zimba, and a lady from the intelligence.

“We are here at woodlands police, Zumani was arrested around 12:00, we are here and his layers to try and verify with the police but they have not even started with their work, they just came and detained him at woodlands police , they have not question him, they have not interrogated him” he said.

Mr. Mwamba said Mr. Zimba has been very active recently in proving analysis such as reviewing President Hakainde Hichilema’s press conferences and governance of the count, it was surprising that he was picked up now that he was talking.

He said when Mr. Zimba was quiet nothing was happening to him but now that he started talking about the subject of criminal investigation interest.

The police had not issued a formal statement of his arrest by press time.
