The festival was aimed at providing kids access to high quality, youth-centered sports for change programs and events that left a lifelong positive impact in the kids lives and featured a street soccer tournament played by football rules designed to promote tolerance and youth leadership.

Kids between the ages of six and 17 from different communities and cultures showcased their potentials during the sports festival aimed at creating life changing opportunities using sport as a transformative tool.

The four days event held from August 22nd to August 25th cheered BUSA Executive Director Fred Kangwa, who used the opportunity to share knowledge with academies leaders to raise awareness on the importance of safeguarding and promoting gender equality within the Zambian football fraternity.

Kangwa said the festival provided an opportunity for collaboration as participants were encouraged to form a strong network of stakeholders committed to safeguard and promote gender equality in football following the rise of girls participating in football.

BUSA Board member Mmankhulele Imbula described the 16th Annual Childrens Cup Football and Educational Festival as a success.

Imbula hailed the Football Association of Zambia FAZ Technical Director Lyson Zulu who witnessed the finals of the festival to appreciate young talent.

She encouraged the young stars who competed at the football festival to continue working hard to achieve their dreams of becoming the next future stars.
