By MICHAEL MIYOBA

RED Arrows coach Chisi Mbewe has cautioned his charges not to get carried away with the 4-0 thrashing of High Flying Nkwazi FC in a service derby played on Saturday at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.

Mbewe said there is need for the Airmen to continue working hard to be able to a win against struggling Konkola Blades in their next fixture.

Arrows opened a 1-0 lead at the top of the log where they seat on 17 points from five wins, two draws and one defeat in the first eight game.

“Being on top is one thing and how to sustain being on top is another thing. We don’t need to be complaisant, we don’t need to be carried away with the win over Nkwazi because the league is too young, we just need to focus and continue collecting maximum points,” Mbewe said.

Mbewe said it was not shocking that four deferent scorers including captain Benedict Chepeshi who scored his first goal in Red Arrows colors, were able to find the back of the net because all the players at Red Arrows are trained to score, including the goal keeper.

Asked about the motivation behind the 4-0 humiliation of Nkwazi led by former Red Arrows Technical Director Osward Mutapa, Mbewe said; “We knew that it was not going to be an easy game and we knew that Nkwazi where not going to give us chances and again this is the game we knew that we needed to utilize chances and I’m so happy so far so good it wasn’t so easy but I’m happy we were able to utilize the chances.”

Meanwhile Nkwazi FC coach Osward Mutapa said failure to defend well cost the police sponsored Super League outfit a positive result against their midlands rivals.

Mutapa admitted that it was worrying seeing Nkwazi conceding more than one goal for the second time since the league commenced.

Mutapa said Nkwazi who have now gone five games without a win and seat on 11th on the log with ten points will go back to prepare adequately for rejuvenated Mutondo Stars who thumped Prison Leopards 3-2 over the weekend.
