KABWE Warriors handed defending champions Power Dynamos their second consecutive loss following a 2-0 beating in a Week-8 MTN Zambia Super League fixture at Godfrey Chitalu Stadium in Kabwe.

Two early goals from Mwamba Mutondo and Ocean Mushure were enough for Warriors to maintain their winning streak after beating Konkola Blades 3-0 before the FIFA international break.

It only took Mutombo three minutes to give Warriors the lead after benefiting from Power Dynamos clumsy defending.

Zimbabwean international, Ocean Mushure doubled the lead with a goal in the 15th minute.

Power Dynamos couldn’t recover from the first half setback as they surrendered to Numba Mumamba’s Warriors who moved to fourth on the log with 15 points, on par with third placed Zesco Uniined who missed a chance to reclaim top spot on the Super League table after being held to a 1-1 stalemate by Kansanshi Dynamos at Nchanga Stadium.

Marvin Jere’s second half equalizer was what Kansanshi Dynamos needed to avoid a third consecutive defeat having lost to Konkola Blades and Power Dynamos in the last two matches.

Kansanshi Dynamos coach Boyd Mulwanda had made three changes to his starting Lineup introducing Jimmy Muleya forDavy Daka while Gerald Chisha and Christopher Katongo replaced George Chisala and Girese Muyumba.

Zesco United dominated the first half and almost came close to breaking the deadlock through Enock Sakala who received a pass from Chingandu but his shot was not powerful enough to beat the goalkeeper Philip Sikauta.

Sakala came close again before the half hour mark when he connected with a cross from Siankombo but Kansanshi keeper Sikauta made a brilliant save to deny Zesco from getting their lead.

Sikauta could however not stop unstoppable Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba from scoring his fourth goal in five games as Zesco enjoyed a 1-0 lead at half time.

In the second half, Mulwanda introduced Kunda Musonda for Gerald Chisha while Titus Chivunga came in for Justine Kang’ombe.

Kansanshi Dynamos finally equalized through Marvin Jere two minutes before the hour mark after benefiting from Yannick Mulenga’s assist.

Kenyana International Jesse Were almost punished his former team after he was introduced for Bruce Musakanya by Mulwanda in the 63rd minute.

Were unleashed a stunning long-range shot that smacked against the crossbar as the two sides settled for a 1-1 stalemate.

Zesco maintained third position with 15 points while Kansanshi Dynamos now seat on 13th position with eight points.
