THE National Road Fund Agency (NRFA) has called on motorists travelling to the Ncwala Traditional Ceremony of the Ngoni speaking people in Chipata this week to acquire Electronic Toll Cards, a cashless payment platform, and minimise the anticipated traffic congestion at the three Toll Gates on the Great East Road.
NRFA Public Relations Manager, Alphonsius Hamachila said Chongwe Toll Gate which is about 25 kilometers from Lusaka, Alexander Grey Zulu Toll Gate between Nyimba and Petauke, and the Reuben Chitandika Kamanga Toll Gate between Katete and Chipata have a combined traffic volume of 7000 vehicles per day.
Mr. Hamachila stated that the Agency expects an upswing in traffic volumes on this stretch this week and says the Electronic Toll Cards which can be acquired from the Agency Head Quarters in Lusaka and at all toll gates across the country were a faster and efficient way of paying tolls.
