THE tax incentives that were awarded to mining companies and potential investors in the mining sector have brought about inefficiency in the way the mining sector has been performing, Emmanuel Mwamba has said.
Mr Mwamba, the Patriotic Front (PF) information and publicity chairperson says has also said the tax holidays were depriving government of the much needed revenue meant to develop the mines and other sectors.
Speaking when he featured on Millennium TV’s “The Platform,” Mr. Mwamba explained that Zambians were not benefitting from the mining sector because the foreign investors were not paying revenue to the Zambians.
Mr Mwamba said the UPND were committing economic crimes by awarding tax holidays to foreign mining companies which were being left to operate the mines without paying any taxes.CLICK HERE TO READ MORE
